Hi, I’m Dr Matt (Chinese Medicine). My job is simple: I help people feel more like themselves again. Sometimes that means less pain, sometimes better sleep, sometimes just a little more calm in the chaos.
I’m an AHPRA registered Chinese Medicine practitioner with a double degree in Health Science and Applied Science from RMIT University. That’s the formal bit. What really matters is finding practical, down-to-earth ways to support your health through Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I fell in love with Chinese Medicine because it blends thousands of years of tradition with a surprising amount of practicality. It has a way of making sense of things that Western medicine sometimes can’t quite explain, while still being grounded enough to work alongside it. Qi and the meridians flow like rivers through the body, while Yin and Yang shift in a constant dance to keep the system balanced and in harmony. And when those patterns start to shift or become disrupted, that’s where I come in.
I believe healthcare should feel safe, welcoming and empowering. My approach is gentle and honest, but also practical. I’ll help you understand what your body is trying to tell you, explain the “why” behind your symptoms in plain language, and give you tools to feel more confident in your health. Every treatment is delivered with warmth, compassion and a genuine desire to see you thrive.
Over the years I’ve supported people with a wide range of concerns. My special interests include:
- Cosmetic acupuncture and skin health: combining facial and body acupuncture to highlight your natural features, support skin vitality and support overall wellbeing.
- LGBTQIA+ healthcare: creating a safe, affirming space for all members of the community, with an understanding of the unique challenges in accessing equitable care.
- Trans and non-binary support: offering physical and emotional care at every stage of transition.
- Men’s health: from reproductive and sexual health to hormones, performance and mental wellbeing (yes, we talk about it all).
I also highly value a collaborative and integrative approach to your care. Working alongside other healthcare providers means we can blend the best of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine to achieve the most effective outcomes.
Outside the clinic you’ll usually find me wandering art galleries, experimenting in the kitchen with Thai food, sketching at a life drawing class or adding yet another plant to my growing indoor jungle.
If you’re curious about Chinese Medicine but a little unsure what to expect, don’t worry. It’s not nearly as scary as it sounds. Think of your first session as a chat, a check-in and a little reset for your body and mind. I currently practice from Zhong Centre in St Kilda, Melbourne and Aesthetique Skin Care in Shepparton, Victoria.
I’d love to help you feel more balanced, energised and at home in your body.
